Alchemist CDC - A Catalyst for Change

New Year’s Resolutions & Nonprofits

According to Luis D. Sosa, Communications Associate at Sacramento Region Community Foundation in his blog entry about resolutions for the New Year, the Sacramento area has some amazing nonprofits that can help everyone stay true to their resolutions all year long, including Alchemist CDC which he aligns with the ever popular “eating healthy” resolution.

Sosa writes, “Losing weight often connects to eating healthy, and nonprofits in our region are making healthy food choices accessible to everyone. Alchemist CDC, for example, is implementing CalFresh payment processing at Sacramento area Farmers’ Markets, aiming to “make fresh produce more accessible to low-income individuals, while simultaneously increasing the sales for small-midsize farmers in California.”

Thanks to our 2015 Market sponsors!

We are pleased to acknowledge the contributions of two farmers’ market sponsors for 2015:

The Giarrizzo Family is a seasonal sponsor of the CalFresh program at the Promenade Farmers’ Market in Natomas and Magpie Cafe of Sacramento is our new six month sponsor of the Central Farmers’ Market.

???????????????????????????????The generosity of these sponsors will help Alchemist CDC support the use of CalFresh/EBT at the markets, which in turn allows thousands of CalFresh recipients make healthier food purchasing decisions.

If you are interested in becoming a farmers’ market sponsor, there are several options available, which are outlined in the Sponsor Our Work section under Support Us/Make a Donation.
